If you purchase a 4-Post 80" Ares™ please be aware of the following: The Logo Plate Crossmember restricts trolley height, affecting usable space for J-Cup placement. We would advise individuals use caution while squatting with the trolleys above the bar when unracking and reracking the barbell.*
The Ares™ cable attachment is a fully integrated, functional trainer and lat pulldown/low row attachment that affixes to your existing PR-4000 or PR-5000 power rack. This saves major space, by bringing a ton more versatility and cable exercises inside the rack, while preserving nearly all the original functionality. The Ares™ features dual weight stacks of 260lbs each (with an option to upgrade to 310lbs per stack) that you can use for unilateral exercises. Or connect both stacks together for bilateral movements that demand heavier weight, like lat pull-downs. The patent-pending Ares™ features trolleys that are designed with a smooth plastic liner that’s easy to adjust up and down with one hand.
The front pulleys swivel 180 degrees for versatile movements and work outside the rack. Hot-rolled steel plates with a machined finish assure consistent and durable weights that the magnetized pin slides into smoothly. A patent-pending metallic black finished shroud, with a recessed stainless steel REP logo, features laser cut windows to see the weights moving. The 2:1 ratio means 100lbs feels like 50lbs, ideal for functional training. The Ares™ comes with a footplate to brace against during low rows, four micro-adjustment 2.5lbs weights, D handles (not pictured), a knurled chrome lat pull-down bar and low row bar, and a connector banana. Organize your gym even further with our Off-rack or Wing Add-on storage options. If Ares™ is the God of War, this is the attachment to train you for it.

Only the PR-4000 and PR-5000 series power racks are compatible with the Ares™. For the PR-4000, you will need to upgrade to the 16” cross-members with vertical holes. For PR-4000 rack owners - a new set of the upgraded 16" PR-4000 crossmembers will be included until October of 2022. Please reach out to Support via our Contact Us form with any questions, comments, or concerns. PR-5000 owners should verify they own the V2 PR-5000 power rack, which has 1” holes along the upright, whereas V1 has alternating 5/8” holes and 1” holes.
The Ares™ is not compatible with any flat-footed rack configuration: OMNI, Apollo, or HR-5000 V1.
* The PR-4000 6-post rack with 16", 24", 30", or 41" cross-members in the front with 16" cross-members in the back, or two sets of 16" cross-members to save space.
* The PR-4000 4-post rack with only the 16" cross-members.
* The PR-5000 6-post rack with 16", 30", or 41" cross-members in the front with 16" cross-members in the back, or two sets of 16" cross-members to save space.
* The PR-5000 4-post rack with only the 16” cross-members.
PR-5000 V1’s have alternation 1” and 5/8” holes along the upright and is not compatible with the Ares™. The V1 was discontinued in 2020.
The weight capacity for both the cable and the trolleys is 450lbs.
The pulleys are a 2:1 ratio. A 93” rack has 96” of cable travel and an 80” has 72” of cable travel. The depth of the rack does not affect cable travel.
The weight stacks are 260lbs each with the option to upgrade them to 310lbs each. They also come with labels that tell you how the weight stacks feel for ease of use. No math required.
We always recommend bolting the rack down for safety. With the 4-Post Ares™ attachment, we recommend using our Front Foot Extensions .
You will also need to clear a section in the back so the Ares™ components can rest on the floor. We also touch on this in the Ares™ engineering video.
You will need to change your cable length if you change the depth of your rack. Cable packages will be sold separately so you can upgrade.
We are working on quite a few cable attachment options, including plate-loaded and selectorized, but they may not look exactly like the Ares™. We do not currently have any public release dates for these new products.
Not necessarily. While the matte black finish does have some texture, the trolleys will still work just fine. But the trolley will work best on our other finishes.
No, the Ares™ completely replaces the Rear Base Stabilizer.
Yes, and we demonstrate how to integrate the Ares™ and the ISO Arms in the Ares™ engineering video.
Yes, and we demonstrate how to use the Belt Squat Attachment in the Ares™ engineering video.
The multi-grip pull-up bar is not compatible with the 16” + 16” cross-member configuration (of the PR-4000 and PR-5000). The globe grip is not compatible with the 41” front cross-member + 16” back cross-member configuration of the PR-(4000 and PR-5000). The Globe Grip was updated in 2020. The older version will not work with any configuration of the Ares™.
*If you purchase the Globe Grip there will be some rubbing with the cables.*
*The 4-post power rack compatible with the Ares™ does not include a pull-up bar that is compatible with the configuration (...yet).*
No. The Ares™ was designed for REP brand PR-4000 and PR-5000 series racks. Even if other racks have a 47” rack, there is no standardization across hole patterns, metric measurements, height, thickness of powdercoat, etc. We will not guarantee the fit of an Ares™ on anything other than a REP rack.
The Ares™ ships LTL Freight. A semitrailer will arrive with a wooden crate, and inside the crate, we’ve securely packaged the Ares™ in multiple boxes to allow just a single person to bring it into their garage, basement, or gym. We are shipping over 1,000lbs, and this is the most secure and protected way to ship the Ares™ to you.

Currently, the Ares™ system completely replaces our current plate-loaded lat pull-down and low row attachment with a selectorized lat pull-down and low row and functional trainer system all in one. (“Selectorized” refers to your ability to select the desired weight with a pin.) We are developing other options that integrate with the plate-loaded Lat/Low Row Attachment that will allow you to add the functional trainer capabilities.
The number of exercises you can perform is long, but just to name a few: curls, tricep pushdowns, cable flies, lateral leg raises, donkey kicks, lateral arm raises, rehab/prehab shoulder work, mid rows, wood chops, face pulls, belt squats with our attachment, seated cable flies, and since there are so many attachment points, it is easy to superset between exercises.
We would recommend purchasing additional Cable Attachments, as well as upgrading the Ares™ weight stack.
Yes, but you will need to remove the REP Logo Plate itself to install the Ares™. This Logo Plate can be reattached to another crossmember of your choosing.
Yes, check out our Cable Attachments collection. Note: The head plate was designed to be light enough for users wanting to perform rehab motions like rotator cuff work. To keep the head plate from rising during weight adjustment, we recommend attachments on the front handles weighing less than 3.5lbs, or lightly press on the head plate while adjusting the pin if you're using a heavier attachment.
The amount of bumper plates you can store depends on the size. You can store up to 13 45lb Competition Bumper Plates per shelf. When using 45lb REP Pinnacle Plates, you can store up to 12. When using the Black Bumper Plates, you can store up to 13. Each shelf can hold three medicine balls at a time. With slam balls you can store up to four REP 5-30lb Slam Balls or three REP 35-70lb Slam Balls per 41” shelf.
You can fit pairs of 5lb-20lb, 25lb-35lb, 40lb-50lb, 55lb-65lb, 70lb-75lb, 80lb-85lb, 90-95lb, or 95-100lb dumbbells on a single 41” shelf. You can fit a full set of our 5-50lb dumbbells on three 41” dumbbell shelves. Rubber Coated Dumbbells are not compatible.
Each shelf has a usable area of 3.13 square feet. It will depend on the size of the kettlebells, and the orientation you choose to store them (single or staggered). You can stagger pairs of 8kg-18kg(6 pairs), pairs of 10kg-20kg(6 pairs), pairs of 16kg-22kg(4 pairs), pairs of 20kg-24kg(3 pairs), pairs of 22-28kg(3 pairs), pairs of 24-32kg(3 pairs), pairs of 36kg-40kg(2 pairs), or pairs of 44kg-48kg(2 Pairs) of Kettlebells (kg) on a single shelf.
The Dumbbell Storage Shelf, Kettlebell Storage Shelf, and Ball & Plate Storage Shelf have a weight capacity of 600lbs.
We do not recommend installing them any higher than 60”.
The 41" shelves plus additional upright will add 46" in width per side.
The 41" shelves plus additional uprights will add 63.3" in width per side.
