Add stability to your lifts with REP’s Leather Olympic Lifting Belt. A lifting belt acts as a tool to increase intra-abdominal pressure by giving your core muscles something to brace against as the abdominal wall expands. This added stability is why most athletes can lift more with a belt than without. This belt has been optimized for Olympic lifting, so it tapers from 4” wide in the back to 2.5” wide in the front. This creates excellent support with minimal bulk, to reduce interference with Olympic lifts. These belts are made from genuine leather for excellent comfort, support and durability, and they feature a finished, leather interior. The belt features a single-prong, steel buckle with a seamless roller for quick and easy adjustments. A buckle guard – an extra piece of leather behind the buckle – prevents loose clothing from catching on the belt.
Debossed REP logos on the loop and back of the belt, as well as a debossed REP mountain logo on the inside of the belt, add a textured, high-end look and feel. The belt's specifications comply with IWF competition standards. The REP Leather Olympic Lifting Belt is 7mm thick and available in brown or black with silver hardware. It comes in sizes XS-XXL. To select the correct size, measure your waist – the circumference where you want to wear the belt – while you’re in your workout clothing. Generally, you want to center the belt over your navel. If your measurements fall in between sizes, go with the smaller option. Belt sizes are as follows: x-small (25"-32"); small (29”-35.5”); medium (33”-40"); large (37"-45"); x-large (41.5"-50"); and xx-large (46.5"-54.5"). This belt pairs perfectly with the REP USA Leather Utility Loop for added exercise and movement versatility.

The REP USA Premium Leather Lifting Belt is handmade in the USA, and its leather goes through a much longer tanning process and features a more unique patina. The premium belt is 4” wide throughout, which is ideal for powerlifting. This belt has been optimized for Olympic lifting, which is why it tapers from 4” wide in the back to 2.5” wide in the front. The premium belt also has an unfinished interior for slightly more stick, while this belt has a finished, leather interior. The premium belt features debossed REP logos on the back of the belt and on the loop, as well as a debossed REP mountain logo at the end of the tab of the belt. This belt also features debossed REP logos on the back of the belt and on the loop, but it has a debossed REP mountain logo on the inside of the belt rather than on the tab.

You don’t need to yank on your belt like a corset. A too-tight belt can actually inhibit your ability to fully expand your torso to create tension. The belt should fit snugly as you brace, but not be overly tight before you brace. The purpose of a lifting belt is to provide a cue for you to brace against – internally.
The leather should be oiled and conditioned to prevent it from drying out over time.
