Traditional cardio fans adjust the resistance by changing how much air flow is let into the blades via opening and closing the vents.

Instead, this improved technology keeps the shroud constant while the blades themselves tilt – to be more aerodynamic or less, affecting the air flow and therefore resistance. With multiple levels of resistance between virtually none (no pitch) to more of a challenge than you can get with a normal flywheel (a 90-degree pitch), you can create a much broader resistance range – both easier and more difficult – than other trainers on the market.
