The L-shaped Crossmembers are capable of many different uses. Most commonly, they can provide plate storage solutions for lifters with a plate-loaded Athena. They can also create a more customized functional trainer and storage or rack combination.
Yes, 5/8" for the 4000 Series and 1" for the 5000 Series. This keeps them modular and capable of holding attachments.

I used the L Shaped crossmembers to convert my Rogue monster 108" 4 post rack into a half rack with wing storage. It's perfect. I freed up a ton of space in my game and it looks amazing.
