Rubber and urethane are the two most common materials for dumbbells. The difference between the two lies in their durability and price. Urethane is more expensive. It is also an extremely durable material that is abrasion-resistant and shows less age over time. Urethane dumbbells can sustain more wear and tear over a longer period of time.
REP dumbbell racks are not included with REP dumbbell sets. The number of racks needed depends on which set you order.
5-50lb set: 1 REP dumbbell rack
5-75lb set: 2 REP dumbbell racks
5-100lb set: 2 REP dumbbell racks (95's & 100's will sit on the floor)
5-125lb set: 3 REP dumbbell racks
55-75lb set: 1 REP dumbbell rack
80-100lb set: 1 REP dumbbell rack
There may be a coating of protective oil when the dumbbells are brand new, but that oil will wear off after a few weeks of use. You can use a dry rag to wipe off the oil.
The handle length is 5.2" for all weight sizes.
However, the handle diameter varies by dumbbell weight size.
2.5-15lbs: 28mm
17.5-125lbs: 34mm
REP Hex Dumbbells have a 3% weight tolerance.

Rarely take the time to leave reviews, but have really been impressed with customer experience with Rep. I ordered two dumbbell racks and the 5-75 hex DB set. The items shipped and arrived on time, were packed incredibly well in two crates with no damage whatsoever. My home gym is inside and there was no bad odor whatsoever and only minimal oily residue which I wiped down with a wet rag. Been using them for 3 weeks now and am really happy I went with Rep!

To start, I have quite a background with dumbbells. I have gone from the regular iron ones to high end urethane dumbbells. I recently sold my Rogue hex dumbbells that were already worn out and after years of trial I decided to switch my lineup to rep dumbbells. To start, the full handle is knurled which gives you a good grip regardless of how you hold the dumbbell (for different exercises). Next, the straight handle is better in my opinion because it resembles the feel of an Olympic bar.

Purchased two different sets of dumbbells during November. The shipping on both was fulfilled very quickly. While I am overAll pleased with my purchase and will buy from rep again, there were dents in one db in both sets and a knurling inconsistency on one db. Please see below. Most of my dumbbells are rep.

I absolutely love these dumbbells, and they've been one of the best investments I've made on my gym. The straight, knurled handles feel great in the hand, 100x better than any of the old gray hex dumbbells that I replaced with these. I've never been a huge fan of adjustable dumbbells and am so glad to have these. On top of everything, shipping was great. The full set was delivered in a wooden crate full of secure boxes that each contained a set of dumbbells, by weight. Really the only issue with delivery is the truck that delivered it didn't have an appropriately sized pallet jack, so we had to get a bit creative. Would absolutely order again, and have recently purchased a few of the half sizes (7.5 and 12.5) since buying the whole set.
