What are the differences between these updated J-cups and the previous versions?
Cosmetically:
-The updated J-cups use bent steel with a lower profile and have nothing beneath the J-cup for a cleaner look.
-The finish is now a metallic black powder coat rather than matte black to make it more resistant to chips and scratches.
-The Lowered J-cups are now the same height as the Standard J-cups.
Functionally:
-With the lower profile J-cup, you can mount the safety straps closer to the J-cups to get the perfect setting for the strap.
-Plastic liners are now more secure to ensure they don’t move while in use. They feature four screws on the top liner rather than two like before. And the bottom liners are attached together rather than being two separate pieces, preventing them from shifting.
-
These updated J-cups don’t have a support triangle on the bottom. Are they still as strong as the previous version?
The updated J-cups are made with bent steel. This manufacturing process makes the J-cup strong enough that it no longer needs the additional, welded support pieces on the bottom. The updated J-cups have the same static weight capacity of 1,000lbs.

PR-4000 racks have 1” hole spacing along the bench press zone. How can I achieve 1” hole spacing with these J-cups on my 5000 Series power rack?
PR-5000 Uprights have 2” hole spacing throughout the uprights. If you want 1" hole spacing throughout the entire rack, you need both Lowered J-cups 2.0 and Standard J-cups. With the 5000 Series Standard J-cups 2.0, select a hole placement on the upright that you believe will work for your lift. If you need the spacing just one inch lower, remove the Standard J-cups and replace them with Lowered J-cups 2.0, using the same hole placement. The bottom of the Lowered J-cup will now be an inch lower for your lifts.
-
Will the lowered J-cup create 1” hole spacing with any other style of J-cup other than the standard?
The only J-cup that will create 1” hole spacing with the original Lowered J-cups are the 5000 Series original Standard J-cups and 2.0.
