REP Launches the Strive™ Air Bike featuring VPR™, Setting a New Standard for Cardio Equipment

Rep Fitness, the Colorado-based manufacturer renowned for its innovative, high-quality gym equipment, is introducing the Strive™ Air Bike featuring VPR™ — allowing riders to adjust resistance, independent of how fast they pedal, by adjusting the fan blade angle.

KEY FACTS

  • What it is: The REP Strive™ Air Bike featuring VPR™, an air bike for home and commercial gyms.
  • The innovation: Patent-pending Variable Pitch Resistance (VPR) adjusts the angle of the fan blades to set resistance.
  • Resistance range: Eight levels; 1-3 for low-intensity and recovery riding, 4-6 for VO2 max workouts and the classic air-bike burn, 7-8 for strength work, hill climbs, and all-out intervals.
  • Price: $1,299.99 MSRP (US), £1,199 MSRP (UK), €1,399 MSRP (EU)
  • U.S. Availability: June 30, 2026, at repfitness.com and REP’s California and Pennsylvania showrooms.

THE FIRST MEANINGFUL CHANGE TO THE AIR BIKE IN A DECADE

For more than a decade, the air bike has been a staple of conditioning in homes, big box gyms, and commercial gyms alike. Yet its fundamental design has not changed: resistance is dictated entirely by pedaling speed, leaving riders locked into a single power curve.

The Strive Air Bike rewrites that formula with VPR, a purely mechanical system that adjusts the pitch of the fan blades to deliver eight distinct resistance levels. No motor, no electronics and no power are required to change the resistance.

The result is a single machine that does what no traditional air bike can. Levels 1-3 open the door to genuine low-intensity and recovery riding that fixed-fan bikes make nearly impossible. Levels 4-6 deliver VO2 max workouts. Levels 7-8 unlock an intensity ceiling built for all-out efforts, making the Strive Air Bike equally at home in a recovery ride or a hybrid training workout.

“Innovation is at the heart of everything we do at REP and our goal is to provide people with the best tools so they can achieve their best workouts,” said Ryan McGrotty, Co-CEO of REP. “The air bike is one of the most proven tools in the gym, but it hasn’t meaningfully changed in years. With the new Strive Air Bike, we set out to give athletes something the category has never offered – control. Whether you’re sitting down for an easy recovery ride or the hardest interval of your life, this bike is built to meet you there.”

Beyond VPR technology, the Strive Air Bike is engineered to REP’s class-leading durability and quality standards. A robust 14-gauge steel frame and stable base supports users up to 350 pounds, while a quiet, low-maintenance, dual-stage belt drive delivers smooth, consistent cycling. Multi-grip ergonomic handles accommodate a wide range of users and training styles, and a large custom LCD console with Bluetooth connectivity tracks key metrics including watts, calories, RPM, speed, distance, and heart rate. Thoughtful touches round out the ride: an adjustable magnetic wind diverter to control airflow towards the user, integrated phone and water-bottle holders, and an on-the-fly, quick-adjust seat that allows riders to change seat heights without cumbersome pins or knobs.

“Every air bike on the market ties resistance to how hard you pedal,” said Joe Travers, Chief Product Officer at REP. “VPR breaks that limitation. By mechanically adjusting the pitch of the fan blades, it introduces a much wider range of resistance than traditional air bikes. That allows the Strive™ Air Bike to function as both a low-intensity cardio machine and a high-intensity resistance tool. It’s a fundamentally different way to ride, engineered to the REP standard.”
